Drive through the Quebrada das Conchas with the fabulous "Anfiteatro" and the "Garganta del Diablo". Arrival in rainy Salta at the Hotel Legado Mitico (room "Gaucho"), very nice. As today is a holiday, the only place that had shops open was at the shopping centre Noa. Went to the movie theatre and saw "No Strings Attached" in original English version with Spanish subtitles. In the meantime there were many people in the mall. Siesta time here in Argentina is from 1 a 5 pm! Back home we had a drink at the library room of our hotel before we had a good dinner at Restaurant Jovi II. I had a delicious matambre with Roquefort sauce. This piece o f meat is first cooked then grilled and is very tasty. A stroll through the Balcarce road with the bars, peñas and discos revealed that there was a stage with Argentinian rock music, probably some event on this memorial day of the fall of the dictature 1976.

We bought fresh goat chesse at this shack

and there was a cat that adopted me.

I was quite happy until some nasty geese and lamas started chasing after me and they scared me to death!

Quebrada de las Conchas

The Amphitheater (Anfiteatro) is one of the stunning rock formations along the Quebrada de Cafayate (Quebrada de las Conchas).

A group of musicians performed, and this is how it sounds:

And then very close by was the next attraction: Garganta del Diablo (= Devil’s throat)
