2008: Loulé – Carvoeiro (19 ºC, sunny)
After a strenuous day,we left Loulé at 15:20 because we had an appointment on the
Monte Santo Resort at 16:00. Unfortunately the lady that was supposed to meet
with us had completely forgotten this meeting! So we took the opportunity to
walk around the resort and mark all the important features on our map. We went
grocery shopping at Intermarché in Lagoa which, by the way, has an excellent
choice of foreign food, for instance excellent fresh milk from the UK!
Overnight stay along the coast road “Estrada do Algar Seco” between Algar Seco
and the Carvoeiro Bay (very calm and quiet!).
21. 11. 2008: Loulé – Carvoeiro (19 ºC,
sonnig)
Nach einem stressigen Tag, Abfahrt um 15.20 Uhr, um den Termin mit Monte Santo
Resort um 16 Uhr wahrzunehmen. Leider war die Frau Analita Santos in Lissabon,
hatte den Termin vergessen... So haben wir die restliche Helligkeit ausgenutzt,
die Anlage durchzulaufen und alles in dem Planentwurf einzuzeichnen. Danach
Einkauf bei Intermarché, der übrigens sehr gut mit ausländischen Produkten wie
absolut leckere englische Frischmilch bestückt ist. Übernachtung an der
Küstenstraße Estrada do Algar Seco zwischen Algar Seco und die Bucht von
Carvoeiro (sehr ruhig!).
22. 11. 2008: Carvoeiro – Sítio das
Fontes (21 ºC, sunny)
Walk upon the cliffs at Algar Seco („A
Boneca“), coffee at the BistroBar „Algar Seco“ which is very pleasant located
in a small holiday resort with sea view. After that we walked down to Carvoeiro
and up again on the other side. Visit of the local market place and at 12:30 we
headed to Estombar and stopped at Sítio das Fontes which is along a bay from the
Arade river.
22. 11. 2008: Carvoeiro – Sítio das Fontes
(21 ºC, sonnig)
Spaziergang entlang der Felsenküste bei Algar Seco („A
Boneca“), Kaffee getrunken beim BistroBar „Algar Seco“, sehr hübsch gelegen in
einer kleinen Ferienanlage mit Blick aufs Meer. Danach sind wir runter nach
Carvoeiro gelaufen und hoch auf die andere Seite. Einkauf im Mercado Municipal
und um 12.30 Uhr sind wir Richtung Estombar gefahren zum Sítio das fontes, der
am Ufer einer Buch vom Fluss Arade liegt.

23. 11. 2008: Sítio das Fontes -
Alvor (21 ºC, sunny)
After a quiet night -all by ourselves- on one of the parking lots of Sítio das
Fontes we drove to Alvor and parked at the Complexo Desportivo (sports grounds)
next to the beach at the parking lot with the palm trees. There were some other
campers there. We walked the walk “Ao sabor da maré” (p. 21 from the book
“Percursos Pedestres”, 2 hours – 5,5 km). We really enjoyed the lovely warm
weather. This time we were standing on the other side of the River Alvor (a few
years ago we walked along Meia-Praia on the Lagos side up to the river). Back
to our beach we had a small lunch at Xico’s with Sangria (all for 19 €). After
a nap we walked to the town centre and along the promenade at the inner lakes.
Before it got dark we moved our camper to the sand street behind the restaurant
Cinco Quinas parallel to the beach – here it was much quieter!
23. 11. 2008: Sítio das Fontes - Alvor (21
ºC, sonnig)
Nach einer ruhigen Nacht ganz alleine auf dem einen Parkplatz von Sítio das
Fontes sind wir nach Alvor gefahren und haben uns am Complexo Desportivo
(Sportplatz) in der Nähe vom Strand bei dem Palmenparkplatz installiert. Da
standen auch schon andere Wohnis. Wir haben die Wanderung „Ao sabor da maré“
(S. 21 vom Percursos Pedestres-Buch) gemacht (2 Std. 5,5 km) und dabei das
schöne warme Wetter genossen. Wir waren diesmal auf der anderen Seite des
Flusses Rio Alvor gestanden (vor einigen Jahren hatten wir eine Wanderung von
Meia Praia auskommend gemacht). Am Strand zurück und bei Xico am Strand Tostas
und Sangria genossen (19 €). Nach einer Siesta Spaziergang in die Innenstadt
von Alvor und entlang der netten Promenade am Binnenmeer. Gegen 16 Uhr haben
wir das Wohni auf der Strandstraße (Sackgasse) hinter dem Restaurant Cinco
Quinas gesetzt – da war es ruhiger.

24.11.2008: Alvor – Barão de São João – Lagos – Guia – Loulé (clowdy /rain 18 ºC)
Drive to Barão de São João where we chose to make a walk through eucalyptus and pine woods (from our Percursos Pedestres book, p. 53 – 2 hours, 7,5 km). The walk goes through a lovely picnic area, and as were were continuing our way I suddenly noticed that my photo camera was not in its case. We walked back and found it on the floor at the picnic area, it had just fallen out of its case! Drive to Lagos, but we were very disappointed that they don’t want any campers anymore. We found a place at Meia Praia just behind the train rails. After our lunch we headed east. On our way home we stopped at Algarve Shopping and went to the cinema and watched “A Bunch of Lies” with Leonardo diCaprio.
24.11.2008: Alvor – Barão de São João – Lagos – Guia – Loulé (bewölkt / Regen 18 ºC)
Fahrt nach Barão de São João, wo wir eine Wanderung durch Eukalyptus und Pinienwald (auch aus dem Buch Percursos Pedestres, S. 53) gemacht haben (2 Std. 7,5 km). Man kommt an einem sehr schönen Picknickplatz vorbei, und als wir schon weiter gelaufen waren, habe ich bemerkt, dass mein Fotoapparat nicht in seinem Etui war. Wir haben es wieder auf dem Picknickplatz gefunden: es war aus der Hülle gefallen! Anschließend Fahrt nach Lagos, aber dort sind Wohnis völlig verbannt. So haben wir noch einen Platz bei Meia Praia gefunden, genau an den Eisenbahnschienen. Wir haben aber nur zu Mittag gegessen, danach sind wir dann wieder Richtung Osten gefahren. Unterwegs entschieden wir uns, einen Stopp beim Algarve Shopping in Guia zu machen und ins Kino zu gehen. So haben wir den Film „A Bunch of Lies“ mit Leonardo diCaprio gesehen. Danach nach Hause.
